Originally released in 1990, Seasons in the Abyss is the legendary fifth studio album from American thrash metal pioneers Slayer.
Blending lightning-fast guitar riffs, thunderous double-bass drumming, aggressive vocals and dark, haunting atmospheres, Seasons in the Abyss captures Slayer at the height of their creative powers.
Featuring iconic tracks such as "War Ensemble", "Dead Skin Mask", "Spirit in Black", "Born of Fire" and the title track, the album delivers a relentless combination of blistering thrash metal, crushing mid-tempo grooves and unforgettable guitar solos.
Produced by Rick Rubin, Andy Wallace and Slayer, the record showcases the band's classic lineup of Tom Araya, Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman and Dave Lombardo. Combining the raw aggression of Reign in Blood with the darker, slower arrangements of South of Heaven, the album strikes a powerful balance between speed, heaviness and atmosphere.
With its sinister lyrical themes, precision musicianship and uncompromising sound, Seasons in the Abyss remains one of the most influential heavy metal albums of the early 1990s.
An essential addition to any thrash metal or classic heavy metal vinyl collection. Perfect for fans of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sepultura and Testament.
