Originally released in 2000, Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea is the critically acclaimed fifth studio album from British alternative rock icon PJ Harvey.
Blending gritty guitar riffs, atmospheric melodies and emotionally charged songwriting, the album captures a more melodic and accessible side of PJ Harvey while retaining the raw intensity and distinctive sound that made her one of the most influential artists of the 1990s.
Featuring standout tracks such as "Good Fortune", "A Place Called Home", "This Is Love", "The Mess We're In" and "You Said Something", the record delivers a captivating mix of alternative rock, indie rock and intimate storytelling.
Inspired partly by Harvey's experiences in New York City, the album explores themes of love, freedom, connection and urban life. It also features guest vocals from Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke on several tracks.
Winner of the prestigious 2001 Mercury Prize, Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea remains one of PJ Harvey's most celebrated releases.
An essential addition to any alternative rock, indie rock or 2000s vinyl collection. Perfect for fans of Radiohead, The Breeders, Sonic Youth and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
