Released in 2026, I Built You a Tower is the eleventh studio album from American indie rock favourites Death Cab for Cutie, fronted by singer-songwriter Ben Gibbard.
Blending atmospheric guitars, heartfelt vocals, melodic indie rock and emotionally charged songwriting, I Built You a Tower captures the band's signature sound while introducing a renewed sense of energy and intensity.
Featuring standout tracks such as "Riptides", "Punching the Flowers", "Full of Stars", "Envy the Birds" and "Stone Over Water", the album moves between soaring guitar-driven anthems and intimate, reflective moments.
Exploring themes of loss, grief, emotional resilience and personal growth, the record reflects on the challenges of confronting difficult memories and finding a way forward.
Produced by John Congleton, the album marks the band's return to independent record labels after more than two decades with Atlantic Records. It follows their acclaimed 2022 album Asphalt Meadows and continues their legacy as one of the defining indie rock bands of the 2000s.
An essential addition to any indie rock, alternative rock or 2000s vinyl collection. Perfect for fans of The Postal Service, The Shins, Band of Horses, Modest Mouse and Bright Eyes.
